A Trio of 1940's Inspired Female Vocalists
The Belles are a vintage 1940's inspired singing group. They met at the University of Portsmouth where they studied Creative and Performing Arts. They created this act in order to do a 1940's production for a unit called 'Forming a Company'. Their local performances in Hampshire gained them much popularity and their show sold out at The Portsmouth Guildhall. Therefore the girls decided to take it up as a full-time career. They now live together in London and work solely on developing their careers as 1940's style performers and event organisers. From their brassy big band sound, to the recreations of the blackouts of the Blitz, they want to give their audience a true feel for the dramatic decade of the 1940's. Inspired by the Andrew's Sisters, their aim is to rekindle the nation's love of jazz music and capture an era which is timeless. They produce work of a professional standard to perform at events or venues for audiences young and old.
Their influences include The Andrews Sisters, Vera Lynn, Doris Day, Judy Garland, The Boswell Sisters, Glenn Miller, The Ross Sisters, Ella Fitzgerald, Al Bowlly, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Manhattan Transfer, and Louis Prima and their repertoire suits accordingly.
The trio offer two different types of service for weddings which can be booked through The Band Boutique.
Wedding Singers to backing tracks
The girls sing all their 40's hits to a fantastic collection of backing tracks through their own sound system. This will work particularly well for a drinks reception, tea dance or somewhere with limited space. This includes 2 x 45minutes of live music over a 3 hour period with arrival one hour before.
The Bevin Band
They can also perform alongside their three piece jazz and swing band The Bevin Band. Made up of three great musicians playing, drums, acoustic guitar and double bass they add a real wow factor to the performance. If you are looking for something really special then book the trio of singers with their band and really amaze your guests. Check out the band here - The Bevins.
