With the release of The Great Gatsby in cinemas today, I thought we would have a little celebration here at the band boutique.
Being a fan of the book I am really looking forward to seeing Baz Lurhmans adaptation starring Leonardo Dicaprio. More than anything I want to see how Lurhman portrays the extravagant, glittering 1920s parties that Gatsby throws!
1920s themed entertainment
Gatsby fever already seems to have hit, with 1920s styles coming back into fashion. But what about having a Great Gatsby themed wedding? Grab yourself a gin sling and sit back and have a listen to "The Swing Kings" to get your creative juices flowing.

Great Gatsby Colour Schemes and Costume
Aside from the entertainment, (which is of course a vital part of your day!) a Gatsby wedding is going to incorporate everything that is wonderful from the 1920s! I'm thinking a colour scheme of black, gold and beige. Plenty of diamante's and sequins adorning the ladies dresses. Glamorous cocktails and Ostrich feathers to decorate the tables! Great Gatsby Decor
One of the biggest things that grabbed me whilst watching The Great Gatsby was the amount of confetti constantly streaming through the air. There was also an abundance of large helium filled balloons throughout the parties in the film which look fantastic.
