Rob Lloyd and The River are one of the UK's best known vintage styled wedding bands. They play the best of classic and contemporary music in an authentic, original and vintage style. The band are perfect for both background music during a drinks reception or as a full on dance band for later on in the evening. Their unique busking style combines the sublime talents of all five musicians to create an astonishing live act, putting a contemporary twist on a classic 1930's gypsy jazz sound. Whether entertaining clients in a busy city bar or creating a beautiful mellow ambiance for an early evening event, the band never fails to capture an audience.

Great musicians

The band comprises a group of 5 five fantastic musicians from Manchester. They constantly tour throughout the UK and under their original guise have supported Elbow at Manchester's cathedral. They have been championed by Lauren Laverne, Steve Lamacq, Tom Robinson and more BBC DJ's. The band have also appeared live on Radio 2's Dermot O'Leary Show and Radio 4's Loose Ends so you know when you hire The River that you are hiring a great group of talented musicians. The cover versions they play are completely authentic and original and you won't hear anything like it if you book any other band.

Vintage look and feel

The quintet come dressed sharp in suits and capture the style akin to their music with the clothes they wear. They will fit in perfectly with any vintage themed wedding or event. Also in addition the instruments the band use add to the style. The instruments include, double bass, drums, keys, acoustic guitar and lead jazz guitar.
